Commissioning: LEED and Beyond

  As buildings become more complex, with new requirements for energy conservation and sustainability, the industry is embracing commissioning as a methodology for quality assurance.  This presentation covers the role of commissioning, its value, and the process.  It answers the questions of which systems should be commissioned and why.  The commissioning process, including the commissioning plan, checklists and functional testing, and automated commissioning, are discussed, along with a review of costs, and payback/justification.  Finally, the requirements of commissioning for LEED, Energy & Atmosphere, Prerequisite 1 and Credit 5 are detailed.
