CALGreen

CALGreen is here!  California has established our nation’s first Green Building Code, with mandatory requirements for improving the sustainability of ALL building types.  California building code enforcement authorities appear to be taking the enforcement of CALGreen requirements very seriously, and design teams need to be prepared to implement these requirements on all projects applying for a permit after January 1, 2011.  Guttmann & Blaevoet has taken a very proactive approach to the development of CALGreen compliant designs and to understanding the process of implementing and documenting CALGreen compliance.  From our participation on the Commissioning Task Force of the Building Standards Commission, to our extensive experience with LEED-rated facility design and construction, we can assist you in making a seamless transition to CALGreen compliance, and management of the regulatory, design, and cost implications.  Let us be your partners for realizing a more sustainable California!

The California Poppy is a beautiful, delicate flower with glossy orange petals that flutter in the breeze.  As our state flower it is an honored and protected element of our natural environment.  In the hopes that someday our entire environment will be likewise honored and protected, we have chosen the California Poppy to represent Guttmann & Blaevoet’s dedication to making California’s built environment an extension of our natural environment, rather than its adversary.

Guttmann & Blaevoet has assembled the following CALGreen resources and information to help you wade through the documents and requirements.

We also offer CALGreen training for owners, architectural firms and contractors.
